Blackstrap Sailing Club (Northeast side, Blackstrap Lake)

BSSC members are from all walks of life, sharing one common interest – the love of sailing. Some members have their own boats, some use the club boats, some race and some just sail recreationally. Others prefer getting the barbecue going while watching the races from the clubhouse deck high above the lake. There’s also a rumor that some members head out to the lake in the middle of winter to go ice sailing . . .

The Blackstrap Sailing Club is a member driven organization relying on our members’ energy and skills to exist. All members are expected to give volunteer time towards the club, whether it be helping with planned events and regattas, general upkeep of BSSC property or serving on the Executive.

Prince Albert Sailing Club (Birch Bay, Emma Lake)

Our club offers a place for members to sail as well as lessons for those who wish to learn to sail.

The first meeting of the Prince Albert Sailing Club was held in 1960 and the club hosted its first Annual Open Regatta in 1962 on Sandy Lake (just inside the south gate of the PA National Park). Not long afterwards, PASC members established the Birch Bay site on Emma Lake. Our Annual Regatta is held on the Labour Day long weekend in September. Sask Sailing Race Squads

All athletes, of any sport, need a way to compete. Sailing is no different. Having a competitive opportunity encourages participation, development, training programs, and more.

Throughout the province; between all SSCA clubs, there are approximately 150 races sailed every summer.

There will be sailors who have just completed Mobile Sailing School (or equivalent) and there will be sailors who have been sailing for several seasons and already competing at a provincial level. One of the best things about sailing is regattas always have sailors of mixed abilities and experience. Sailors will regularly notice the same sailors, of similar abilities to their own, at similar parts of the race course.
